Ellis Island in New York was where many immigrants were many immigrants were admitted to the United States. This search of the Ellis Island Data Base was created using a stevemorse.org sounds-like search. If someone is not listed there are various reasons ranging for differing spellings for the place of residence and transcription errors. It is also possible that a different residence was given. The manifests were prepared before the passengers got on the boat. The links in the last five columns do not function. There is additional information on the original manifests such as place of birth (for some arrivals in 1906 or later), closest relative or friend left behind, and the name and address of the person immigrants were going to.
